Chelsea FC is enjoying huge success at the moment - it is one of the best football teams in the UK and that their future is getting brighter still.

Chelsea FC, known as The Blues, overall, is one of the top four football teams in the English Premier League. It is in the top two at the moment, along with Manchester United, and Chelsea's recent success put them in to the top four teams of England ever. After a couple of hugely successful seasons in recent years Chelsea then came very close to wining the English League title and other tournaments. In the bygone season they finished second to Manchester United and they had to be runners-up in the European all important tournament - the Champions League, because of Manchester United too. Chelsea now is enjoying a huge popularity at the moment due to its successes. Chelsea FC was fueled when the Russian billionare Roman Abramovich bought the club. Roman Abramovich is an oil tycoon and he acquired the club in 2003. He soon made Jose Mourinho, one of the best managers ever, the mananger of Chelsea and brought good players to Chelsea. Then Chelsea became runners-up in the 2003 season and won the Premier League in the 2004 and 2005 season (i.e. in 2005 and 2006). Chelsea then became the second again in 2007 season and went to the Champion's League Final for the first time, with Avram Grant as the manager.

Chelsea won its first Premier League title in the 1954-55 season and it took nearly 50 years before they won it again. They have won the FA Cup four times and have come up as runners-up four times.

Current Manager: Luiz Felipe Scolari is a Brazilian who has made Brazil win the 2002 World Cup and also brought Portugal among the top teams in the world. He was a player too and he managed more than a dozen teams before he came to Chelsea FC.

Ground: Stamford Bridge. It is the main stadium of UK and it is in Fulham Road, South London.

Captain: John Terry is the captain of Chelsea. He is a defender and he is regarded as one of the best in Europe. He is also the current captain of the English National Team. John Terry has played for almost 50 national games and almost 250 games for Chelsea. He has been with Chelsea since 1995. The former captian was the Frenchman Marcel Desailly.

Important Players:                                                                                                                                                                                      Frank Lampard is the vice captain of Chelsea and is one of the best midfielders in Europe. His contribution to Chelsea FC is immense but now it is said that he wants to join Inter Milan where the former manager Jose Mourinho is, despite him telling before that he will stay in Chelsea forever. He scored 18 goals last season and this is pretty good for a midfielder. He has palyed for Chelsea in almost 250 games, more than John Terry, and has scored over 70 goals.

Petr Cech is from Czech Republic. His role is goalkeeping and he sure is good at it. He is regarded as one of the best in the world and the best in the UK. He has helped Chelsea in its successes. He has palyed a total of almost 250 club games and he has played ten dozen games for Chelse. He has over 60 appearances for his national team. In October 2006 Cech suffered a fatal knock on his head in a game due to an opponent and he had to undergo an operation which almost coast his life. However he returned after about four months and played for Chelsea. But some say that his goalkeeping ability has declined a bit.

Micheal Ballack is a popular footballer worldwide. He is the German captain and also plays for Chelsea. He is a midfielder. His role in the German national team and Chelsea is unsurprisinlgy good. He has played in about 90 games for Germany and also almost 50 games fro Chelsea. His goal record is good too, he has around 40 international goals for Germany. He was a former player for the German champions Bayern Munich. He palyed over 100 games for Bayern and has scored 44 goals.
